Michael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe, 66, looks unrecognizable in rare outing nine years after battling cancer
Michael Jackson‘s ex-wife Debbie Rowe was pictured during a rare outing in Palmdale, California, on Monday.
The 66-year-old looked unrecognizable while running errands, nine years after battling breast cancer.
The former nurse cut a slim figure in a blue button-up top paired with light blue jeans and white sneakers.
Rowe kept a low profile while cashing a check before climbing into her custom-built, supercharged $200,000 Range Rover Vogue.
Rowe — who shares daughter Paris, 27, and son Prince, 28, with the late King of Pop — has largely stayed out of the public eye since her publicized divorce from Jackson in 2000.
Her outing comes amid the release of Leaving Neverland 2: Surviving Michael Jackson, a sequel to Leaving Neverland, which explores sexual abuse claims against Jackson.

Rowe — who shares daughter Paris, 27, and son Prince, 28, with the late King of Pop — has largely stayed out of the public eye since her publicized divorce from Jackson in 2000; they are pictured in 1996
Rowe’s eyes were hidden behind black sunglasses, and her straight blonde hair had bangs with a gentle curl.
It comes after she revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016.
In 2017, her daughter Paris celebrated Debbie getting her last chemotherapy treatment.
Rowe, an American nurse, married Jackson in a secretive ceremony in Sydney, Australia, in 1996 and was surrogate mother to the singer’s two oldest children Prince and Paris. They divorced three years later in 1999.
Prince and Paris also have a younger brother Bigi who was formerly known as ‘Blanket’ but he was not mothered by Debbie.
In 2021, Jackson’s daughter opened up about her relationship with Debbie who she confessed is more like a ‘friend’ to her.
After the dermatology assistant split from the singer in 1999, Debbie had agreed to give Michael full custody of Paris and her brother Prince, but at the age of 15 the singer and her mom reconnected.
The entertainer sat down with Willow Smith on her family’s Red Table Talk show where she dished on their now ‘very chill’ bond and spoke about how her mega famous dad’s death had an impact on her.
‘Its just cool having her as a friend,’ Paris said of their relationship. ‘It’s very chill – which I love – it’s the perfect word to describe it.’

In 2022, Jackson’s ex-wife broke down in tears as she revealed she feels partly to blame for the singer’s death

In a tearful interview for a documentary, Debbie said: ‘I should have done something and I didn’t’
And speaking about getting to re-form a relationship with her mom when she was a teenager she said she realized how ‘similar’ they are now, and frequently bounces her music off of her.
‘It’s cool. I mean like, getting to know her, seeing how similar we are, getting into what kind of music she likes and she really likes country and folk.
‘I send her some of the stuff that I’m working on that has banjos in them,’ she shared.
Debbie had married Michael in 1996 before they split just three years later, and at the time she granted him full custody of both children.
After the Smooth Criminal singer passed away in 2009, Paris and Prince were raised by grandmother Katherine Jackson, but because Paris was only 12 at the time of his death she confessed to Willow that she ‘didn’t really understand what was happening.’
‘I don’t know, it kind of just happened,’ she explained of his sudden death. ‘I was so young.’
‘I was just going through the motions and didn’t really understand what was happening and so I just went with what I was told to do…I didn’t really have much guidance.’
In 2022, Jackson’s ex-wife broke down in tears as she revealed she feels partly to blame for the singer’s death.
Rowe wept as she admitted she regrets not doing more to help Jackson when he became addicted to painkillers. In a tearful interview for a documentary, Debbie said: ‘I should have done something and I didn’t.’
She told the ‘TMZ investigation, Who Really Killed Michael Jackson’: ‘There is a number of people that died from addictions and in some way I was part of it.’
Jackson died aged 50 following a drug-induced cardiac arrest in June 2009 at his home in Los Angeles and his personal physician at the time, Dr Conrad Murray, was jailed for involuntary manslaughter.

Rowe was a nursing assistant to Beverley Hills dermatologist Dr Arnold Klein, who died in 2015, and met Jackson 15 years before their marriage, while he was having treatment for his skin condition.
Klein would give Jackson and other strong painkillers and wrinkle filler drugs like Botox and Restylane.
In the documentary, Rowe said: ‘I was basically as bad as him [Klein] and I am so sorry I participated in it.’
Those close to the case say that there are others – not just Dr. Murray – who should have been found guilty for allowing Jackson to reach the level of drug dependency he was at when he died.
Jackson’s name has recently been in the news, amid the release of the latest documentary exploring pedophilia claims against him.
The first part of Leaving Neverland originally aired on HBO in 2019, focusing on Jackson’s accusers James Safechuck and Wade Robson, who say the singer molested them as children at his sprawling estate Neverland Ranch.
Jackson’s career was clouded by rumors of pedophilia from the 1990s onward, but after the allegations were taken to court, he was acquitted in 2005.
