Elon Musk Criticizes Jennifer Lopez Over Political Endorsements and Public Silence on Past Associations

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has recently made headlines after commenting on Jennifer Lopez’s public political stance. Lopez, a global pop icon and actress, showed support for Vice President Kamala Harris during a rally in Las Vegas ahead of the 2024 presidential election. Her message urged voters not to back former President Donald Trump, sparking strong reactions from political commentators and public figures—including Musk.

During a conversation on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Musk brought up Lopez’s past relationship with music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs, whom she dated between 1999 and 2001. Combs is currently dealing with serious legal challenges, although none of the allegations involve Lopez herself. Musk questioned why Lopez has spoken out strongly against Trump but remained silent on Combs’ legal troubles.

“J.Lo was his ex-girlfriend, and now she’s warning people about Trump,” Musk told Rogan. “But how many people did she warn about Diddy? Maybe we should consider that when evaluating her opinion.”

Musk also raised broader concerns about accountability in the entertainment industry. Without naming specific individuals, he implied that prominent figures may have ignored problematic behavior within their circles. “People had to know what was going on, and yet they stayed silent,” he added.

Lopez’s recent political remarks followed a controversial rally appearance by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, a Trump supporter, who made derogatory comments about Puerto Rico, calling it a “floating island of garbage.” Lopez, who is of Puerto Rican descent, responded emotionally.

“We should be emotional. We should be upset,” she said during her speech. “Our pain matters. We matter. You matter. Your voice and your vote matter.”

Podcast host Joe Rogan echoed some of Musk’s concerns, noting the shift in public alignments among celebrities. “It’s interesting how many who used to be part of certain social scenes are now very vocal about their political views,” Rogan observed. “It makes you wonder about what they knew and when.”

So far, Jennifer Lopez has not made any public comments about Sean Combs’ ongoing legal situation.
