Heartless dad crashes at 100mph and flees scene while leaving injured wife and kids behind
A Texas father driving at 100 miles per hour crashed and fled the scene – leaving his severely injured wife and four children behind, Houston police said.
On Tuesday night, the man was driving a Ford Expedition at more than double the speed limit down Houston’s Yale Street.
A Chevy Avalanche cut the speeding car off while turning into a gas station and the vehicles collided.
The family-filled Ford shot into the air and flipped over into a ditch. One of the children, an eight-year-old girl, was ejected upon impact.
The Chevy, carrying a man and a woman, ended up in the guardrail.
After the dramatic crash, the father ran from his suffering family without hesitation, according to the Houston Police Department (HPD).
He reportedly sprinted off and jumped into another car that drove him away from the horror crash.
‘He trampled over the babies and the momma and all. She was bleeding everywhere. He took off running,’ John McCoy, the driver of the Chevy, told ABC 13.
‘I have no idea what’s going through his mind at the time. I don’t know if there was some other reason that he felt he needed to flee,’ HPD Captain Ryan Watson said after the accident.

‘The investigators here are following down leads and they are going to track that down and see if they can talk to him and get some answers, find out what’s going on.’
His wife and children were rushed to nearby hospitals. They are all expected to survive.
Two of the victims were in stable, but critical condition, and three of them in stable, but serious condition as of Tuesday night, Watson said.
The eight-year-old was the oldest child, while the others were ‘very young ages, looked like toddlers,’ the police captain added.
Police said that even though the Chevy made an illegal turn, the Ford was driving at such an extreme speed that any kind of collision was bound to be disastrous.
McCoy and the truck’s other occupant stayed at the scene and have been cooperating with investigators.
‘No lights. I looked at my mirror before I was going to turn. I ain’t see nothing,’ McCoy recalled to ABC 13.
‘Next thing I know, I got ready to turn, BANG! They drive up and down the road like it’s the freeway.’

John McCoy, the driver of the Chevy, said he watched the shameless father sprint off and abandon his suffering family

He said that as the father shamelessly abandoned his family, he and nearby witnesses rushed over to try and help the injured woman and her kids.
As police continue their search for the fleeing father, people have expressed outrage about his despicable actions.
‘That is so cowardly. He would rather leave his family behind instead of being a man and face the consequences of his actions,’ one woman wrote on Facebook.
Another added: ‘Keep those kids away from him forever.’
